Terms

Last updated 2 November 2026

Marquee is an Apple TV app for watching your own Plex library. Using it means you agree to these terms. They are short because the app is simple.

What you get

Signing in, linking servers and browsing are free. Playback is free for seven days after your first sign-in on an Apple TV. After that, playback needs a purchase: a one-time Lifetime unlock, or a Yearly or Monthly subscription. Prices are shown in the app and on this site and are charged by Apple in your local currency.

Subscriptions

Yearly and Monthly subscriptions start with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers and renew automatically until cancelled. Apple charges your Apple ID at the end of the trial and at each renewal unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Manage or cancel in Settings › Users and Accounts › Subscriptions on your Apple TV, or in your Apple ID subscription settings on any device. A cancelled subscription stays active until the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policy.

Lifetime unlock

The Lifetime unlock is a one-time purchase tied to your Apple ID. It can be restored on any Apple TV signed in to that Apple ID, and is shared with your Family Sharing group where Apple allows it.

Your content

Marquee plays what is on your Plex server. You are responsible for having the rights to that content. The app has no library of its own and never uploads, copies or shares your media.

No warranty

The app is provided as is. We work to keep it working with Plex Media Server and tvOS, but Plex and Apple change things, and we cannot promise every file will play on every setup. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from use of the app.

Plex

Marquee is an independent app, not affiliated with or endorsed by Plex, Inc. Plex is a trademark of Plex, Inc.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, the date above changes and the app's release notes say so.
