Marquee talks to two places: plex.tv to sign you in and list your servers, and your own Plex Media Server to browse and play. It has no backend of its own.
What the app stores on your Apple TV
- Your Plex sign-in token, in the system keychain.
- A random device identifier Plex uses to recognise this install.
- Your chosen server and settings such as streaming quality.
What leaves your device
- Requests to plex.tv to create a sign-in code, check it, and list your servers.
- Requests to your server to list media, fetch artwork, start playback and report watch progress. This is the same traffic the official Plex app sends.
What the app does not do
- No analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers in the current release. If crash reporting is added later it will be opt-in and this page will say so.
- No account other than your Plex account. We never see your password.
Deleting your data
Sign out in Settings to remove the token, or delete the app. You can also revoke the device from your Plex account's Authorized Devices page.
